July is here, and that makes it the perfect time to look back at the first six months of 2024. Our conclusion: it was an eventful and extremely successful first half-year that makes us proud and motivates us to continue to give our best.
Our property on Schlaatzweg in Potsdam was successfully refinanced – a significant milestone. In addition, we were able to find long-term tenants for the last two vacancies in our portfolio in Potsdam. Particularly pleasing: we were able to inspire our existing anchor tenants to not only remain in the approximately 650 m² of office space, but also to continue to grow. As a result, our entire portfolio in Potsdam, consisting of around 15,000 m² of office space, is fully let.
Another highlight: we have installed a photovoltaic system – our first step towards ESG-compliant action. This project underscores our commitment to sustainability and was accompanied by our participation in the Real Estate Arena 2024, where we were able to establish valuable contacts.
There has also been a positive development in the sale of apartments: the slight increase in demand enabled us to successfully sell two more apartments in our privatisation properties in Brandenburgische Strasse (Steglitz) and Beuthstrasse (Pankow). In Ringbahnstrasse in Neukölln, our measures – including the installation of a new central heating system and the renovation of the balconies – are bearing fruit. These projects not only offer visible results, but also promising prospects for the future.
In addition to our day-to-day business, we can look back on two special highlights: the 8th Private Real Estate Dinner 2024, which was not only a complete success but also raised a record donation, and our sponsorship of the tennis event ‘ecotrans Ladies Open’ – a sporting highlight that gave us a lot of pleasure.
Another proud moment was when our colleague Josephine Fröhlich received the Freti Ambassador Award. Congratulations, Josephine – you more than deserve this honour!
Motivated for the second half of the year
While we look back proudly on what we have achieved, we are already focusing on the coming months. We see the challenges of the current market situation as an incentive to continue actively shaping each day with new ideas and solutions.
Our conclusion for the first half of 2024: we cannot change the circumstances, but our commitment and creativity make the difference – and we will continue to rely on that in the second half of the year.
